I’m lying stretched in a hammock, drinking whiskey ginger ale out of an improvised jar made out of a plastic bottle and the only thing that’s bothering me right now are the many mosquito bites I’ve managed to collect in these past few days. Otherwise, we really have it going good here!

We are currently relaxing, sweating, swimming, watching the local dogs run around, drinking mango lassies, and eating fabulous food at Koh Tao in Thailand. We arrived here after an exhausting 27-hour long journey that followed teary goodbyes at Brnik airport. It was a day filled to the brim with so many different and conflicting feelings … the excitement, the sadness, the expectations, and the immense tiredness. But it all quickly blurred away after arriving on this tropical paradise island and gobbling down our first Chang beer at our first, temporary hostel. Now after much sleep and in our very cute bamboo bungalow, we are finally living our dream.

So far, our days have been really lazy, with our greatest achievement of finding the best and of course the cheapest food on the island at a little road stall called Mama’s. Besides that, we are spending our days on the beach, adjusting to our new reality (which is pretty awesome, if I might add) and plotting our future exploration of this small island. Oh, and avoiding all the tourist party crowds that constantly flock the island with cocktails in buckets and coupons for free shots (maybe we didn’t choose the right place for relaxing, ha?). But so far, we really have nothing to complain about. And a lot to look forward to!
